For an athlete to be recognised by UWS as an elite athlete, they must be identified by the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), state or territory institute or academy of sport, or a relevant national association as outlined in the AIS Guiding Principles.  They may be competing nationally or internationally in a sport recognised by UWS.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate program at UWS.

If a student athlete falls outside of these guidelines, they may still apply for consideration.  uwsconnect will consider all sports and sporting commitments.

Registration

If you feel you would be in this category contact Simon James simon.james@uws.edu.au , and complete the Sporting Scholarship  Application Form. 

You will need to supply documentation to support your application:

• Copy of academic results from the previous year.

• Copy of sporting references and evidence of rankingsor results listed in the application.

• One recent passport photo and one recent good quality action photo.

• Contact details of two (2) referees.

• Copy of student card or letter from UAC confirming your offer of placement.

• Declaration of any illness or injury over the previous 12 months.
