Food and Lifestyle - Good Choices month throughout August gives UWS staff and students the opportunity to participate in activities, view demonstrations and collect information to help promote a healthier lifestyle. The annual event is held across all 6 UWS campuses and is strongly supported by Bankstown, Blacktown, Penrith, Hawkesbury & Parramatta Campus Life Committees.Not only do we provide heaps of free activities, entertainment and food, we offer you the opportunity grab some useful information on health related topics from the uwsconnect stall on campus.
The Food & Lifestyle - Good Choices program includes:
- Wheelchair Basketball - Arrive Alive Roadshow Crew
- Connect Fitness Open Days & promotions
- Strength & Endurance Challenges
- Various sport demonstrations & "get involved" demonstration classes.
- Healthy Menu options in uwsconnect Food Outlets
- Fusion Salad Promotion
- FREE Food Sampling
- Competitions - rowing competitions, Weetbix eating competition, Healthy Recipe Competition.
- Give-Aways
- FREE BMI and Blood Pressure Checks
- Live Entertainment
- Social Sport

As part of the program, uwsconnect has set up Healthy Walking Tracks on all UWS campuses, including Werrington North and South. Maps can be collected from the following outlets or downloaded.
The collection point for the maps is also the starting point for the walks. Track lengths vary from campus to campus - walk half the track or walk it twice - all exercise is good exercise! There is also a personal training diary on the reverse side of the map to help you keep track of your exercise and eating habits - Good Choice!
