Scholarships & Elite Athletes
The University of Western Sydney (UWS) is a young and dynamic institution with a growing reputation for both academic and sporting excellence. By entering the University of Western Sydney, students become part of the newest and most innovative academic and sporting program.
UWS is a strong supporter of elite student athletes and as such is a foundation member of the national network of Elite Athlete Friendly Universities (EAFU). The EAFU is an initiative of the Athlete Career and Education (ACE) unit of the Australian Sports Commission and is endorsed by the Australian Institute of Sport, state institutes of sport and participating players associations.
Financial support is available for elite athletes representing UWS at university sport events.

How to apply for a uwsconnect Sporting Scholarship and obtain support in balancing your academic and sporting commitments:
1. Check to see if you are Eligible
2. Complete the application form which can be obtained by emailing Simon James @ simon.james@uws.edu.au
3. Send in the application and supporting documentation to the address indicated on the form.
